About this record

The influenza pandemic of 1918-1919 killed more people than World War I. Known variously as the "Spanish Flu" or "La Grippe," influenza killed an estimated 50 million people worldwide. By the end of 1918, more than 675,000 Americans had died from the flu, most between the ages of 19 and 42. This broadside, issued by the Sauk County Health and Recreation Committee and the Board of Health in Baraboo, offers some suggestions on how to help contain the spread of disease.
