About this record

During World War I, the number of women working outside the home in the United States increased to nearly ten million. The Wisconsin Federation of Women Wage Earners sought to protect and advocate for Wisconsin women who had entered the workforce to meet growing labor demands. This broadside, issued by the Madison branch of the federation, detailed both the plans necessitated by war for the organization as well as its permanent goals.
