About this record
This 5-page typescript is a brief chronology of attempts by Wisconsin women to gain the right to vote, starting in 1848. A note on the cover attributes the work to "J.W. McMullin" -- Wisconsin Legislative Reference Library staff member Jennie Willing McMullin (married name, Turner; 1885-1967). She notes that much of the information came from the autobiography of Olympia Brown and from Ada James of the Wisconsin Woman Suffrage Association. The original document is a fragile carbon-copy typescript that was once stapled to a brittle cardboard cover.Citation
